Accessible Parking on Campus

A state placard or special license plate for individuals with disabilities is required for daily fee, metered, or hourly accessible spaces. A special AHEC permit is required to park in all accessible permit spaces. A permit can be purchased at the Parking and Transportation Center, (303) 556-2000.

There is no free parking at meters even with a handicap placard or plates.

Campus Accessible Shuttle Service

An accessible transport service available to students with disabilities. Students registered with the Access Center who wish to utilize the service should contact their Accessibility Coordinator to request a validation sticker to place on their campus ID. When boarding the shuttle, students will be asked to show their validated ID. The service is available (during semesters) from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Fridays. Call (303) 556-2001 to schedule a ride.

RTD

All RTD buses, including the Free MallRide, Free MetroRide, and rail vehicles are accessible for mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, electric scooters, segways, walkers, and crutches. Bus and rail operators are trained to assist passengers with disabilities boarding or exiting the vehicle: http://www.rtd-denver.com/how-to-ride/accessibility.

Access-a-Ride

Access-a-Ride provides local bus transportation in the Denver metro area for people with disabilities. We help individuals who cannot access our fixed-route bus and rail system to maintain their freedom to travel around the metro area, http://www.rtd-denver.com/routes-services/other-services/access-a-ride

Campus NightRider Service

For your safety, the Parking and Public Safety Division offers an evening transport service to take students, staff and faculty from any campus building to any Auraria parking lot The service is available during the Fall and Spring semesters from dusk to 10:00 p.m.,Monday through Thursday. Call (303) 556-2001 to schedule a ride. Escort service is available at other times from Campus Police at (303) 556-5000.

Immigrant Services Program

The Immigrant Services Program is an academic and social support program that aims to increase enrollment, retention, and graduation of undocumented, DACA, immigrant, and refugee students. Through academic counseling, ESL support, scholarship application assistance, and access to campus and community resources, the program’s mission is to address the most common challenges and barriers to education that this underserved, underrepresented student population faces.

Integrated Supports for Students with Autism in College (ISSAC)

The Integrated Supports for Students with Autism in College (ISSAC) program supports adults with autism in communication, social engagement, self-advocacy, and self-regulation skills to achieve academic success, develop meaningful relationships, and attain competitive employment. We provided one-on-one individualized intervention and peer mentoring along with group sessions that focus on the individual’s strengths and needs.
